Lady Gaga has unveiled her highly anticipated seventh studio album, Mayhem. The official announcement came on January 27 through an Instagram Reel, following earlier clues such as a redesign of her website and billboards appearing in New York City and Las Vegas. The album is scheduled for release this spring.
Tracklist and Singles
The album will feature 14 tracks, including previously released singles “Disease” and “Die With a Smile.” The latter, a collaboration with Bruno Mars, has been nominated for two Grammy Awards: Best Pop Duo/Group Performance and Song of the Year.
Fans won’t have to wait long for new music; Mayhem’s third single and its accompanying music video are set to debut during a commercial break at the 2025 Grammy Awards on February 2.
A Return to Pop with a New Perspective
Lady Gaga has described Mayhem as a return to her pop roots, offering a fresh take on the sound that defined her early career. Reflecting on the project, she shared: “The album started as me facing my fear of returning to the pop music my earliest fans loved.”
Gaga compared her creative process to “reassembling a shattered mirror: Even if you can’t put the pieces back together perfectly, you can create something beautiful and whole in its own new way.”
Behind the Scenes: The Team Behind Mayhem
The album’s production includes contributions from several prominent figures. Gaga’s fiancé, Michael Polansky, is listed as an executive producer alongside Gaga herself and Andrew Watt. Other notable producers involved in the project are Cirkut and Gesaffelstein.
With its 14 tracks and blend of new and familiar sounds, Mayhem marks Lady Gaga’s first full-length album since her 2020 release Chromatica.
More details, including the full tracklist and release date, are expected in the coming weeks. Fans and industry insiders alike are eager to see what this next chapter in Gaga’s career will bring.
